	PENS RELEASE REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE Opening Night - October 3rd vs. Hershey
	The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins begin their ninth season in the American Hockey League against their East Division rivals, the Hershey Bears on Wednesday, October 3. The full Penguins regular season schedule was released today by the AHL. The Penguins will play an 80-game unbalanced schedule, facing off against teams from the East Division 54 times during the season (27 home games/27 road games), North Division opponents 14 times (7 home/7 road) and Atlantic Division foes 12 times (6 home/6 road). The Penguins will not play any teams from the West Division. The majority of the Penguins’ home games will once again take place on weekends, with 13 Friday, 13 Saturday and one Sunday contest on the schedule (27 games, 67.5% of home games). The remainder of the Pens’ home contests will take place on Wednesdays (12), with one game taking place on a Monday, that coming as a New Year’s Eve contest against the Norfolk Admirals.
	Other highlights to the schedule include the first-ever Wachovia Arena visits from the Worcester Sharks (Wednesday, November 21), the Lake Erie Monsters (Wednesday, January 9) and the Lowell Devils (Wednesday, March 19), as well as a visit from the Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs (Friday, March 28). The Penguins’ longest homestand of the season runs five games from March 19-28, while the team’s longest road trip will consist of a six game swing from January 18-26. The team will play three games in three days six times (November 23-25; December 14-16; January 18-20; February 29-March 2; March 14-16; April 4-6), and will play four games in five days a total of four times (November 21-25; February 29-March 4; March 12-16; April 2-6). All Penguins’ home games will begin at 7:05pm, with the exceptions of the Sunday, November 18 game against Binghamton (5:05pm), the New Year’s Eve game on Monday, January 31 (6:05pm) and the Saturday, February 2 game against the Norfolk Admirals, which will take place at a special start time of 3:05pm.
