Katie began working with the Penguins organization as the team's Merchandise Manager at the start of the 2000-01 season. In that position, Katie worked to update, organize and order merchandise for the team store. At the end of her first season, Katie was promoted to her current position as Director of Marketing and Community Relations. Along with Katie's new position came plenty of new responsibilities. And those responsibilities never fail to keep her days at a nearly chaotic level.

Among many other things, Katie handles all charity and community requests, corporate sponsorship accounts, all radio, television, print and outdoor advertising campaigns, as well as game-day promotions and special events.

Katie received her bachelor's degree in English/ Marketing from King's College in May of 2000.
