YOUNG RE-ASSIGNED TO AHL PENS

 

The Edmonton Oilers have reassigned defenseman Bryan Young from the Stockton Thunder to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced on Tuesday.

Young, 20, has appeared in 17 games with Stockton this season, recording five assists with a plus-3 rating and 24 penalty minutes.

A fifth round selection of the Oilers (146th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Young made his professional debut with the Milwaukee Admirals earlier this season, going scoreless in 22 games with six penalty minutes.

The Ennismore, Ontario spent his four-year (2002-06) junior hockey career with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League, scoring 30 points (1g-29a) in 186 career games. In 2005-06, Young helped guide Peterborough to the Ontario Hockey League's Robertson Cup league title.
