JENSEN BACK IN WILKES-BARRE;
PENS SIGNS YOUNGER BOOGAARD TO ATO

 

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Joe Jensen to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced on Wednesday.

Additionally, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has signed right wing Aaron Boogaard to an amateur tryout contract.

Jensen, 24, has 11 points (6+5) and 16 penalty minutes in 26 games with the Penguins this season.  He finished the ECHL campaign with 29 points (11+18) in 28 games with the Nailers.

Boogaard, 20, recently completed his junior season with the Tri-City Americans (WHL).  He recorded 21 points (10+11) and 173 penalty minutes in 69 games with the squad.

For his junior career, the 6-1, 215 pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan posted 54 points (26+28) and 589 penalty minutes in 273 games with the Americans and Calgary Hitmen.
